Construction Assurance Manager – MEP

Location: Maple Cross, Rickmansworth – heavily site-based role

We are looking for an experienced Construction Assurance Manager (CAM) with a strong MEP background to support the assurance and delivery of major infrastructure works in the Rickmansworth area.

This is a site-focused opportunity for a construction professional with specialist experience in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) installation, particularly within tunnels, ventilation and intervention shafts, and portal buildings.

About the Role

As Construction Assurance Manager, you will support the Senior Construction Assurance Manager in providing specialist constructability expertise and risk-based assurance across complex construction works.

A key focus of the role will be assuring the installation of MEP systems within tunnels, ventilation and intervention shafts, and portal buildings. Previous experience in these areas is essential.

You will work closely with project management, QHSSE, stakeholder and interface teams and wider delivery teams to help ensure works are delivered safely, compliantly and to the required standards for quality, environmental performance and project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Construction Assurance Manager in delivering risk-based constructability assurance.
• Provide specialist MEP and construction advice to Project Managers throughout all stages of the construction process.
• Assure the installation of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems within tunnels, ventilation and intervention shafts and portal buildings.
• Coordinate and undertake safety tours and other site-based safety activities.
• Support the NEC3 Supervisor in fulfilling their contractual responsibilities.
• Support the NEC3 Project Manager in fulfilling their contractual responsibilities.
• Work with functional teams to ensure works comply with relevant assurance commitments, environmental requirements and construction standards.
• Support the management of cross-contract interfaces from a constructability perspective.
• Assist with the CDM assurance process and associated hold-point release requirements.
• Identify, assess and support the management of construction and delivery risks.
• Promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) throughout all aspects of the role.

About You

You will be an experienced construction assurance professional with a strong MEP background and demonstrable experience working on complex, large-scale infrastructure projects.

Experience assuring MEP installation within tunnels, ventilation and intervention shafts and portal buildings is essential.

Knowledge & Experience

You should have:

• Strong knowledge of NEC3 contracts and Supervisor responsibilities.
• Knowledge of UK construction regulations, including Construction Design and Management (CDM) and construction safety management requirements.
• Strong understanding of site-based health, safety and environmental processes.
• Experience in construction risk identification and management.
• Understanding of construction planning and the ability to monitor progress against a project programme.
• A degree-level qualification in civil engineering, construction, building science or a relevant equivalent qualification/experience.
• Significant experience on large-scale civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience assuring MEP installation for tunnels, ventilation and intervention shafts and portal buildings.
• The ability to work effectively in a heavily site-based environment.
