Technical Assurance Lead
Location: Harewood, West Yorkshire
Working pattern: Full-time, office-based
Reporting to: Technical Programme Manager
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Technical Assurance Lead to take ownership of the technical quality and assurance of our asset surveys, asset registers and associated data.
This is a senior, engineering-led role requiring a strong understanding of physical assets, asset hierarchies, condition, maintenance, reliability and asset management.
You will ensure that our survey outputs are accurate, complete, consistent and technically robust, giving clients confidence in the information they use to make maintenance, compliance, risk and investment decisions.
You'll work closely with surveyors, engineers, project managers, analysts and clients, providing technical leadership throughout the survey and data delivery process.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical assurance of asset surveys and client deliverables.
- Review survey methodologies, specifications and data capture requirements.
- Carry out technical audits, quality checks and final-stage assurance (QC2).
- Support analyst teams and develop their capability in initial assurance (QC1).
- Validate asset data against drawings, technical documentation and existing registers.
- Ensure accurate asset classification, hierarchy and parent/child relationships.
- Provide assurance over asset condition assessments and challenge anomalies.
- Lead data cleansing, remediation and investigation of recurring quality issues.
- Develop and maintain technical standards, survey methodologies and QA processes.
- Provide technical guidance, training and mentoring to survey teams.
- Support client workshops, technical queries and asset data requirements.
- Provide technical input into EAM/CMMS systems, data migration and data mapping.
- Work with Project Managers to identify technical risks and ensure project requirements are met.
- Drive continuous improvement and first-time-right delivery.
About You
Essential
- Engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent engineering experience.
- Significant experience working with physical assets and engineering systems.
- Experience in asset surveying, asset management, facilities management, infrastructure or a similar asset-intensive environment.
- Strong understanding of asset hierarchies and parent/child relationships.
- Experience with asset condition assessment and asset registers.
- Understanding of asset criticality, risk and lifecycle management.
- Strong technical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confidence to challenge technically incorrect or inconsistent information.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
- Experience in an asset surveying or asset management company.
- Experience with IBM Maximo, SAP, IFS or other EAM/CMMS systems.
- Knowledge of ISO 55000.
- Experience with asset data migration and mapping.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs and schematics.
- Experience with Excel, Power BI or similar data analysis tools.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration.

You'll ensure that every asset dataset we deliver accurately represents the client's physical asset base and is technically defensible, fit for purpose and right first time.
You'll bring together engineering judgement, asset management expertise, data assurance and technical leadership to maintain the highest standards across our projects.
Location
This is a full-time, office-based role at our Harewood office in West Yorkshire. Occasional travel to client sites may be required.
