The Mechanical Project Manager will join an established team and lead a range of mechanical projects in response to increased workload. The role involves managing projects from survey and planning through to delivery and handover, often in live commercial environments. Experience of fast-track asset replacement programmes is desirable but not essential.

Key responsibilities

Plan, manage, and deliver mechanical projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standard.

Coordinate a range of mechanical trades and apply sound knowledge of building services and HVAC systems.

Manage on-site project phases, contractors, programme activity, and day-to-day delivery requirements.

Attend design team and project meetings as required, communicating progress, risks, and decisions clearly.

Complete site surveys and translate findings into practical scopes, plans, and delivery actions.

Monitor key performance indicators each week and ensure accurate, timely reporting.

Maintain compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies, and site standards at all times.

Manage project costs and profitability, protect agreed margins, and identify appropriate opportunities to improve commercial performance.

Prepare accurate cost value reconciliations and submit them on time.

Promote a right-first-time approach, aiming for defect-free completion and a smooth handover.

Support continuous improvement by identifying better processes, construction methods, and technical solutions.

Skills and experience

Demonstrable experience delivering mechanical projects.

Project management experience, including programme, cost, quality, and contractor control.

A relevant qualification in building services, mechanical engineering, or HVAC engineering.

Strong communication, organisation, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.

SMSTS certification.

A valid First Aid certificate.

Asbestos Awareness training.

A valid CSCS card.
