Technical Assurance Manager - Rail

Make a difference through technical excellence and assurance.

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Assurance Manager to ensure projects and programmes are delivered safely, consistently and to the highest technical and quality standards.

You’ll work closely with delivery teams, contractors, designers and the wider supply chain to establish effective assurance processes, review technical evidence, oversee risk-based verification activities and provide clear, data-led reporting on assurance performance. You’ll identify capability and competency gaps, support audits and help drive continuous improvement across technical assurance practices.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for a technically experienced professional with:

• Experience managing and implementing quality and assurance principles, systems and frameworks on large-scale projects or programmes.
• A strong technical background, with experience liaising with contractors, designers and delivery teams.
• Experience working across multi-disciplinary programmes, potentially including civils, M&E, architecture, systems, engineering or other complex technical disciplines.
• Knowledge of systems engineering thinking, problem-solving and integration.
• Knowledge of change and configuration management principles.
• Understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and European Common Safety Methods guidance.
• Knowledge of working within an NEC3 contract environment.
• Knowledge of quality management principles, including ISO 9001.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge, influence and make sound, risk-based decisions.
