Construction Assurance Manager

Location: Birmingham – high level of site presence required

We are looking for an experienced Construction Assurance Manager (CAM) to provide specialist constructability expertise and assurance across major civil engineering works in Birmingham.

This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional with strong site experience to play a key role in supporting safe, compliant and successful project delivery across complex infrastructure works.

About the Role

As Construction Assurance Manager, you will support the Senior Construction Assurance Manager in providing risk-based constructability assurance and specialist construction expertise throughout the project lifecycle.

You will work closely with project management, QHSSE, stakeholder and interface teams, as well as wider delivery teams, to ensure construction activities meet the required standards for health and safety, quality, environmental performance and project delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Senior Construction Assurance Manager in delivering risk-based constructability assurance.
• Providing specialist construction advice and expertise to Project Managers throughout all stages of the construction process.
• Coordinating and undertaking safety tours and other site-based safety activities.
• Supporting the NEC3 Supervisor in fulfilling their contractual responsibilities.
• Supporting the NEC3 Project Manager in fulfilling their contractual responsibilities.
• Working with functional teams to ensure works comply with environmental requirements, assurance commitments and relevant construction standards.
• Supporting the management of cross-contract interfaces from a constructability perspective.
• Supporting the CDM assurance process and associated hold-point release requirements.
• Identifying, assessing and helping to manage construction and delivery risks.
• Promoting and embedding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) throughout your work.

About You

You will be an experienced construction professional with a strong understanding of large-scale civil engineering projects and the ability to provide practical, evidence-based advice in a complex project environment.

Knowledge & Experience

You should have:

• Strong knowledge of NEC3 contracts and Supervisor responsibilities, together with an understanding of project and matrix management principles.
• Knowledge of UK construction legislation and regulations, including Construction Design and Management (CDM) and construction safety management.
• Strong understanding of site-based health, safety and environmental processes and procedures.
• Experience in construction risk identification and management.
• Understanding of construction planning and the ability to monitor progress against a project programme.
• A degree-level qualification in civil engineering, construction, building science or a relevant equivalent qualification/experience.
• Significant construction experience on large-scale civil engineering projects, including areas such as earthworks, bridges, structures and ground engineering.
• A full, clean driving licence.
