We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an Interim Fabric Surveyor to support a programme of building condition surveys across sites in the Glasgow area.

This is a practical, site-based surveying role focused on carrying out visual assessments of the condition of building fabric and accurately recording findings within Mobiess.

This is not a complex structural or intrusive surveying position. The requirement is for someone who can systematically inspect buildings, identify and grade the condition of fabric elements, and capture accurate asset and condition information.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out visual condition surveys across a portfolio of buildings.
• Assess the condition of building fabric including:
• Internal and external walls
• Doors and associated components
• Ceilings
• Floor finishes
• General internal and external building fabric
• Identify visible defects, deterioration, damage and maintenance requirements.
• Record condition information accurately and consistently.
• Input survey findings directly into Mobiess.
• Capture supporting photographs and relevant asset information where required.
• Ensure surveys are completed in accordance with the client's methodology and required timescales.
• Highlight any significant defects or areas requiring further investigation.
• Work independently across multiple sites while maintaining accurate records.

Experience Required

We are looking for someone with previous experience in building fabric, condition or asset surveying.

You could come from a Building Surveying, Fabric Surveying, Asset Surveying, Facilities Management or property maintenance background.

You will need:

• Experience carrying out visual building condition surveys.
• Good knowledge of general building fabric and common defects.
• The ability to assess walls, doors, ceilings, floors and other fabric elements confidently.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate data capture skills.
• Experience using Mobiess is highly desirable.
• Comfortable working independently and travelling between sites in the Glasgow area.
• Ability and willingness to undertake the required PVG check.



This role would particularly suit an experienced Fabric Surveyor, Condition Surveyor, Asset Surveyor or Building Surveyor who is comfortable undertaking high-volume visual condition assessments and accurately capturing the findings electronically.
