Multi-Skilled Engineer – Electrical Bias

Location: Buxton, Derbyshire

Hours: 40 hours per week

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer with an Electrical Bias to join an established Hard FM engineering team supporting a key site in Buxton.

This is a varied, hands-on position combining electrical maintenance, testing, fault finding and installations alongside planned and reactive maintenance across the wider site.

You'll work as part of an established engineering team responsible for keeping building services, plant and associated systems operating safely, reliably and efficiently. The role would suit a qualified electrician or electrical engineer with experience working within Facilities Management, commercial buildings, industrial facilities or another maintenance-led environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installations, testing, fault diagnosis and repairs across the site.
• Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across electrical and wider M&E systems.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests, breakdowns and electrical faults.
• Diagnose issues and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
• Support wider mechanical, building services and fabric maintenance tasks where required.
• Ensure electrical systems, plant and controls remain safe, compliant and operational.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and technical information.
• Complete relevant maintenance records and documentation accurately.
• Work in line with contractual KPIs, compliance requirements and site procedures.
• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and housekeeping.
• Participate in call-outs and out-of-hours works where required.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• BS 7671 18th Edition qualification.
• City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent.
• A recognised electrical trade qualification.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, plant and controls.
• Experience carrying out electrical testing, fault finding and maintenance.
• Ability to read and understand technical and electrical drawings.
• Previous experience within Hard FM, building services, commercial or industrial maintenance would be advantageous.
• Good IT skills and the ability to complete maintenance records and reports.
• A proactive, flexible approach with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
