About this Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Asset Manager to join a growing organisation on the South Coast.


The business is experiencing significant growth within its asset management and built environment activities and is now in a position to invest in additional expertise. This is an opportunity for an Asset Manager to take a key role in managing asset information, improving data quality and supporting the effective management of assets throughout their lifecycle.


A key element of the role will be BIM and information management, with strong practical knowledge of ISO 19650 required. The successful candidate will understand how BIM, asset information and structured data come together to support effective asset management and operational decision-making.


The preference is to appoint someone on a permanent basis, although an experienced interim professional working inside IR35 will also be considered.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop asset information throughout the asset lifecycle.
  • Ensure asset data is accurate, complete, structured and maintained to the required standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of asset management strategies, processes and information requirements.
  • Apply BIM and ISO 19650 principles to asset information and information management activities.
  • Manage and coordinate asset information received from design, construction and operational teams.
  • Ensure asset information is appropriately structured and suitable for ongoing operational and lifecycle management.
  • Review and improve asset data, identifying gaps, inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the development and maintenance of asset information models and associated datasets.
  • Work closely with BIM, design, project, FM and operational teams to ensure information requirements are clearly understood and delivered.
  • Support the development and implementation of Asset Information Requirements (AIR) and Exchange Information Requirements (EIR) where appropriate.
  • Contribute to BIM Execution Plans and information management processes.
  • Ensure information is managed consistently through agreed common data environments and digital workflows.
  • Support the integration of asset information into CAFM, IWMS or other asset management systems where required.
  • Provide advice and guidance to project and operational teams on asset information requirements.
  • Monitor data quality and establish processes for maintaining accurate asset records.
  • Support the transition of asset information from projects into operational environments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve asset management through better use of BIM, data and digital technologies.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure asset information requirements are delivered effectively.


About You

We are looking for an experienced Asset Manager / Asset Information Manager with a strong understanding of the built environment and the role that accurate, structured information plays in effective asset management.

You will ideally have experience working across asset management, BIM, information management, estates, facilities management, construction or engineering environments, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical project information and operational asset requirements.


Essential Experience

  • Proven experience in an Asset Manager, Asset Information Manager, Asset Data Manager or similar position.
  • Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management and asset information.
  • Practical experience working with BIM and information management processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 19650.
  • Experience managing, reviewing and improving asset data and information.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary project and operational teams.
  • Understanding of how design and construction information transitions into operational asset management.
  • Strong understanding of information requirements, data structures and information quality.
  • Experience working with digital asset management, CAFM, IWMS or similar systems.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to information management.


Desirable Experience

  • Experience developing or managing Asset Information Requirements (AIR).
  • Experience with Exchange Information Requirements (EIR) and BIM Execution Plans.
  • Experience with asset information models / digital twins.
  • Experience within FM, property, infrastructure, construction or engineering environments.
  • Knowledge of asset management standards such as ISO 55001.
  • Experience with CAFM / IWMS implementation or mobilisation.
  • Relevant BIM, Asset Management or Information Management qualification.
