The Opportunity

We are working with a leading UK organisation to recruit an experienced Business Change & Transition Project Manager on an initial 6-month fixed term contract.

Sitting within an established Business Change & Transition function, the role will take responsibility for managing and supporting a range of business change, mobilisation, demobilisation and transformation projects from initial planning through to implementation and closure.

This is a national role suited to an experienced Project Manager who is comfortable operating across complex, multi-stakeholder environments and has previous exposure to Hard FM or technical services delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage business change, transition and transformation projects from initiation through to implementation and closure.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, actions, risks and key deliverables.
  • Work collaboratively with workstream leads and subject matter experts to ensure projects remain on track.
  • Provide clear project reporting and escalation across project, programme and senior leadership levels.
  • Organise and facilitate stakeholder meetings, change workshops, project updates and cross-functional activities.
  • Establish clear project objectives, success criteria, client expectations and benefits realisation measures.
  • Develop implementation plans covering process, systems, operational capability, communications and stakeholder engagement.
  • Support mobilisation and demobilisation activity, ensuring effective transition into or out of service delivery.
  • Lead or contribute to the development of project business cases where required.
  • Support bid and transition activity, including the development of transition plans and client-facing content.
  • Work closely with operational, commercial and technical stakeholders throughout project delivery.
  • Undertake post-implementation and lessons-learned reviews to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational performance, client experience, financial outcomes and risk management.

The Candidate

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in business change and operational transition, ideally gained within a large, complex service delivery environment.

You should be comfortable managing multidisciplinary teams and engaging with stakeholders ranging from operational teams through to senior leadership and external clients.

Experience within Hard FM, engineering, technical services or a similar outsourced services environment would be particularly relevant.

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 5 years' experience working within a Project Management capacity.
  • Previous experience within a Hard FM / technical services delivery environment.
  • Strong business change and transformation experience.
  • Demonstrable mobilisation and/or demobilisation experience.
  • Experience managing multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously.
  • Strong stakeholder and client management capability.
  • Commercial awareness and good financial acumen.
  • Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2 or equivalent.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and SharePoint capability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to operate effectively within fast-paced environments.
  • Proactive, self-directed and comfortable taking ownership of project delivery.
  • Strong focus on process improvement and lessons learned.

Travel

This is a national role and will require occasional travel across the UK, including some overnight stays depending on project requirements. Candidates should therefore be comfortable working flexibly and hold a full UK driving licence.
