About this Role

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Garden Machinery Technician to join our team, supporting the maintenance, servicing, and repair of commercial grounds maintenance equipment. The Role

You will be responsible for ensuring a wide range of grounds maintenance equipment, vehicles, and associated machinery are maintained to a high standard, safe to operate, and available for operational use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out seasonal servicing, preventative maintenance, and repairs on petrol and battery-powered grounds maintenance machinery.
  • Service, maintain, and repair gritting hoppers and associated winter maintenance equipment.
  • Install gritting wiring harnesses and ancillary equipment to vehicles as required.
  • Identify and report parts, consumables, and equipment requirements to the relevant supervisor.
  • Accurately complete timesheets, maintenance records, and associated documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
  • Take ownership of your workstation and manage workloads effectively to meet operational requirements.
  • Support the wider team with workshop and fleet-related activities when required.


Requirements

Essential

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic IT skills and experience using digital systems.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to work.


Desirable

  • Experience servicing or repairing grounds maintenance, agricultural, horticultural, or small plant equipment.
  • Industry-related qualifications in mechanical engineering, land-based engineering, horticultural machinery, or a similar discipline.
  • Understanding of electrical and electronic systems.
  • Knowledge of petrol and battery-powered machinery.
