We are seeking an experienced Interim Fabric Surveyor to support a nationwide property portfolio on a short-term contract basis. The successful candidate will undertake fabric condition surveys, identify maintenance requirements, assess building defects, and provide technical recommendations to support asset management and planned maintenance programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct building fabric condition surveys across a national estate.
- Identify defects relating to roofs, walls, floors, windows, doors, and external structures.
- Assess property condition and recommend remedial works and lifecycle replacements.
- Produce detailed survey reports, condition assessments, and costed recommendations.
- Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and capital works planning.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building regulations and industry standards.
- Liaise with stakeholders, contractors, and facilities teams to provide technical advice.
- Maintain accurate records and survey data using client systems and reporting tools.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fabric Surveyor, Building Surveyor, or Property Surveyor.
- Strong knowledge of building construction, fabric maintenance, and defect diagnosis.
- Experience conducting condition surveys and preparing technical reports.
- Good understanding of health and safety and statutory compliance requirements.
- Ability to work independently and manage a national travel schedule.
- Full UK driving licence.
