We are looking for a Senior Health and Safety Advisor on a mega project
Accountabilities
- Advise, guide, and support all project personnel in the implementation and continuous improvement of the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS).
- Provide guidance on compliance with company procedures, statutory regulations, and industry best practice.
- Maintain and update the Health & Safety competency matrix.
- Deliver Health & Safety inductions, briefings, and toolbox talks alongside the construction team.
- Monitor and support the onboarding process for new personnel and contractors.
- Produce, review, and implement Construction Phase Plans (CPP).
- Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure suitability and compliance.
- Support accident and incident investigations, ensuring timely reporting and communication of findings and corrective actions.
- Monitor project activities, trade contractors, designers, and suppliers to ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained, while supporting the procurement process where required.
- Carry out site inspections and assurance audits to monitor compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Liaise effectively with contractors, designers, suppliers, clients, enforcement agencies, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in the development, review, and continual improvement of the HSMS.
- Support business development activities by assisting with PQQs, tender submissions, and related documentation when required.
- Promote and contribute to a positive, injury-free working environment and strong safety culture.
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve Health & Safety performance and operational efficiency.
Experience / Criteria
Essential
- Previous experience in Construction and/or Facilities Health & Safety.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
- NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Experience working on tunnelling projects, with exposure to Slurry or Variable Density TBM operations desirable.
Desirable
- Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH or above).
