Cleaning Supervisor

Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm

The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Cleaning Supervisor to join a busy site in Ware, taking responsibility for the day-to-day supervision of a cleaning team and ensuring consistently high standards of service.
This is a hands-on supervisory position, ideal for someone with previous experience leading cleaning teams within a professional, commercial or controlled working environment.
You will oversee routine, planned and periodic cleaning activities, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently and in line with agreed schedules, site procedures and health & safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day activities of the cleaning team, allocating work and ensuring agreed cleaning schedules are completed.
- Monitor cleaning standards across the site and ensure a consistently high-quality service is maintained.
- Support the recruitment, induction, training and ongoing development of cleaning colleagues.
- Provide guidance and technical training to team members where required.
- Ensure cleaning activities are carried out in accordance with site health, safety and environmental procedures.
- Ensure colleagues understand and follow relevant site procedures, including applicable GMP requirements.
- Manage cleaning materials, equipment and consumables, maintaining appropriate stock levels and ordering supplies when required.
- Distribute uniforms and ensure colleagues have the appropriate equipment to carry out their duties safely.
- Deal with day-to-day operational issues quickly and professionally, escalating more complex matters where required.
- Build positive working relationships with colleagues, management and the customer team.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience supervising or leading a cleaning team.
- Experience delivering cleaning services within a commercial, corporate, manufacturing or similar professional environment.
- Strong people-management skills with the ability to motivate, support and develop a team.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to prioritise workloads and use your own initiative.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Previous exposure to EHS, GMP or controlled-site procedures would be advantageous, although this is a Non-GxP cleaning position.
