About this Role
As an M&E Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of engineering and maintenance operations. You will be responsible for assessing the competence of skilled personnel, producing high-quality Risk Assessments and Method Statements, and providing technical support to site teams, contractors, and end users. Your expertise will help support project delivery, reduce corrective actions, and identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and carbon reduction performance.
The role also involves providing professional guidance on Safe Systems of Work, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring maintenance and operational procedures meet the highest standards. You will work closely with senior management, supporting projects and identifying any deficiencies that could impact safety, compliance, or operational performance.
Collaboration is essential in this role. You will build strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders to ensure smooth operational delivery. You will also provide supervision, assessment, and coaching to Skilled Persons, ensuring they are fully trained and operating safely within regulations.
What You'll Bring
To succeed in this role, you must be a fully qualified Mechanical or Electrical Engineer. AP qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines would be advantageous, although training can be provided for the right candidate.
You should have strong practical experience with Safe Systems of Work and operational compliance procedures. You will be confident in problem-solving, decision-making, and working independently across multiple sites. Experience supervising site operations, managing resources, and leading staff is essential.
A full UK driving licence is required, as travel between sites and participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota may be necessary.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and technically skilled professional to take ownership of a vital role within a fast-paced environment and contribute to the success of ongoing operations.
