About this Role

We are seeking an experienced and values-driven Area Manager to lead the delivery of a high-quality repairs and maintenance service, ensuring excellent outcomes for customers, stakeholders, and the wider business. This is a senior operational role with full accountability for performance, budget control, and health and safety compliance.


You will lead and motivate a multi-disciplinary team and supply chain partners, ensuring the effective delivery of planned, reactive, and out-of-hours services. You will manage operational performance, oversee complex repairs, monitor KPIs, and use data insights to drive continuous improvement and value for money.

With full profit and loss responsibility, you will manage budgets through forecasting, financial control, and performance reporting. Working collaboratively across teams and partners, you will identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service delivery, and customer experience.

A key focus will be people leadership—creating a positive, supportive culture, managing performance, and handling employee matters such as absence, health and safety, and disciplinary processes in line with best practice.

You will also build strong stakeholder relationships and ensure service delivery meets agreed standards and commitments. Training will be provided for relevant compliance responsibilities.


About You

You will have strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with experience in repairs and maintenance or facilities management. A background in social housing or hard services is desirable. Relevant professional or health and safety qualifications (or working towards) are advantageous, along with good IT and data analysis skills.
