Morgan Sindall Property Services has been awarded a £12m contract by St Albans City & District Council to deliver a major programme of energy-improvement works, aligned to the council’s ambition to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2030.

Over the next three years (completion expected January 2029), the programme will upgrade 353 homes using measures including external wall insulation, replacement windows and doors, cavity and loft insulation, Mixergy hot water tanks, mechanical ventilation improvements, and solar PV.

The council states the programme is supported by a £2.45m government grant from the Warm Homes Social Housing Fund, with the remainder financed from its ring-fenced housing budget.
