Mears has secured a new 10-year contract with Birmingham City Council to deliver repairs, maintenance and planned works to 11,500 homes in central and west Birmingham. The contract is estimated at £450m over the initial term and includes an option for a five-year extension.
The published scope includes day-to-day repairs, emergency cover, voids, planned maintenance and improvement, electrical testing, gas servicing and heating installation, disabled adaptations, and some retrofit works.
In the accompanying announcement, Mears’ CEO said the firm expects to welcome around 170 new colleagues as part of mobilisation.
