We are seeking an Engineering Supervisor (Electrical Bias) to oversee electrical maintenance activities and undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across building plant, equipment, and systems. The role will also involve carrying out minor installation works and responding to engineering emergencies, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with agreed service levels and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the electrical services delivered by embedded specialist contractors.
- Supervise and carry out, where required, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical and associated mechanical systems.
- Ensure all routine maintenance activities are completed in accordance with agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults, coordinating specialist contractors when necessary.
- Liaise with contractors regarding repairs, quotations, and ongoing works, monitoring performance and compliance standards.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment in accordance with company and client health and safety policies and procedures.
- Organise and participate in the site call-out rota, ensuring full operational coverage.
- Work closely with other engineering disciplines to resolve electrical issues within agreed timescales.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, compliance documentation, and statutory inspection reports.
- Provide support for shift working, weekend cover, and out-of-hours emergency response as required by the contract.
Qualifications & Experience
- Recognised Electrical Qualification (NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship, or equivalent).
- City & Guilds 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- City & Guilds Test and Inspection qualification.
- Strong knowledge of building electrical systems, including emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, power distribution, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Working knowledge of relevant British Standards and electrical regulations.
- Experience managing electrical maintenance programmes, compliance requirements, and associated documentation.
- Ability to work within a call-out rota and flexible shift arrangements.
- Good standard of education with strong written and verbal communication skills, alongside sound numerical ability.
