About this Role

As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, installing, and testing electrical equipment and systems across an assigned site. The role forms part of the Engineering and Technical Services team, providing support through planned preventive maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and general engineering services to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and facilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review and follow instructions relating to scheduled maintenance, emergency repairs, installations, and inspections.
  • Complete all Safe Systems of Work (SSW) documentation and required training successfully.
  • Identify situations where equipment requires immediate shutdown to prevent damage and advise accordingly.
  • Carry out the inspection, maintenance, repair, replacement, and cleaning of electrical equipment while adhering to all safety procedures.
  • Perform mechanical repairs associated with the servicing and maintenance of electrical equipment where required.
  • Install, splice, terminate, and replace electrical wiring and associated components during repairs and installations.
  • Undertake emergency repair work independently when necessary to maintain operational continuity.
  • Diagnose and resolve routine electrical faults using established procedures and safe working practices.
  • Complete all planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks within agreed KPI and SLA requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines and site personnel to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation as required.
  • Follow defined processes and procedures to deliver high-quality work under supervision and guidance where appropriate.



Skills and Experience

  • High School Diploma, GED, Trade School qualification, or equivalent experience and education.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
  • Previous experience in a similar electrical maintenance or facilities management environment (typically 1–2 years or more).
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, climbing ladders and stairs, stooping, and lifting/carrying loads of up to 50 lbs (23 kg) or more.
  • Good understanding of electrical maintenance principles and safe working practices.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to share information clearly and professionally.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organisational skills with a proactive and inquisitive approach to problem-solving.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate percentages and perform routine measurements and calculations.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support other trades when required.
