About this Role

We are looking for an experienced Hard FM Maintenance Manager to join our team and take responsibility for the delivery and assurance of reactive and programmed maintenance, as well as Billable Works, across the establishment.

Reporting to the Built Estate Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring maintenance activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required contractual standards, while providing excellent support to customers and stakeholders.

The Role

You will oversee the delivery of reactive and programmed maintenance, ensuring KPIs are achieved and tasks are completed to the required First Time Fix standard.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the delivery and assurance of reactive and programmed maintenance across the establishment.
  • Undertaking programmed maintenance inspections and assurance activities.
  • Reviewing inspection reports and certification, raising remedial tasking and Statements of Need (SONs) where required.
  • Providing technical support and advice to DIO and Head of Establishment (HoE) representatives.
  • Working closely with Mobile Authorised Persons (APs) to ensure works comply with JSP 375 requirements.
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce energy consumption and improve site efficiency.
  • Initiating and managing Billable Works through the raising of Statements of Need.
  • Managing F-Gas and waste compliance across the establishment.
  • Supporting the Line Manager in developing effective solutions to customer requirements.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for end users and resolving issues promptly.
  • Managing customer complaints and ensuring they are resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Managing a high volume of low-value Billable Works and projects, from initiation through to completion.

A significant part of the role will involve the project management of high-volume, low-value Billable Works, so proven experience in this area is essential.

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for an experienced and capable Hard FM professional with a strong background in planned and reactive maintenance.

You should have:

  • Proven experience working as a maintenance manager within a hard FM, planned or reactive maintenance environment.
  • Strong experience managing high-volume, low-value projects or Billable Works.
  • Experience managing contractual KPIs, performance reporting and service delivery.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and IOSH principles.
  • The ability to provide effective technical support and build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

A technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering would be advantageous, but is not essential. We are more interested in your proven maintenance management experience, leadership capability and ability to deliver results.

Essential Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to successfully obtain and maintain SC Security Clearance.
  • Proven experience within planned and reactive hard FM maintenance.
  • Experience managing high-volume, low-value works/projects.
