Multi-Site Maintenance Operative

About the Role

We are looking for a practical and reliable Multi-Site Maintenance Operative to work across a small region.

You will be provided with a company vehicle and fuel card and will know in advance which site you are attending and the tasks scheduled for the day.

The role combines planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and small works. You will undertake a variety of general maintenance activities, including minor plumbing, general building repairs and other day-to-day tasks. A strong handyperson background is ideal, while experience in additional trades would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned, reactive and routine maintenance tasks across multiple sites.
  • Complete fire alarm testing and weekly water flushing in line with site requirements.
  • Undertake minor plumbing and general building repairs.
  • Carry out filling, painting and decorating.
  • Install notice boards, fixtures and other small items.
  • Identify and resolve minor maintenance issues using appropriate repair solutions.
  • Maintain high standards of presentation across the buildings and surrounding areas.
  • Ensure buildings remain safe, functional and presentable.
  • Record completed works, materials used and issues identified using PDA systems or paper-based processes.
  • Work professionally with site users, customers and stakeholders.
  • Work independently when required, with occasional two-person support for specific tasks.
  • Follow all relevant health, safety and site procedures.

What You'll Need

  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Previous experience in a handyperson, maintenance or semi-skilled role.
  • Practical experience using hand tools.
  • The ability to work independently and manage a daily workload effectively.
  • Confidence following written and verbal instructions.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to different tasks and working environments.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to determine suitable repair solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A professional and customer-focused approach.
