We are currently recruiting for an experienced Operations Manager (Hard FM) to join our team in Chester.

In this role, you will oversee the effective, compliant and timely delivery of planned, reactive and response maintenance works across multiple sites. You will ensure all works are delivered in line with statutory legislation, Health & Safety requirements and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of hard facilities management and maintenance services.
  • Allocate suitably qualified and experienced operatives to relevant tasks, ensuring they have the appropriate equipment and resources.
  • Manage and monitor subcontractor and supply chain performance, ensuring agreed KPIs and service standards are achieved.
  • Review risk assessments and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities, asset information and supporting documentation are accurately recorded within the CAFM system.
  • Monitor the progress of works through to completion and ensure all records are maintained accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with Legionella and Asbestos management procedures.
  • Take on Responsible Person duties where required.
  • Carry out inspections, audits and compliance checks.
  • Project manage a range of mechanical and electrical (M&E) works from initial planning through to completion.
  • Promote high standards of Health & Safety, quality and environmental compliance.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • An HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Previous experience in hard facilities management, ideally within a reactive maintenance environment.
  • Experience managing M&E subcontractors across multiple sites.
  • Strong IT and CAFM system skills.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience coordinating maintenance teams and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to agreed standards.
  • A full UK driving licence.
