Location: London – covering SE1 & SE3

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced Gas Engineer to join an established Mechanical & Electrical team, working across commercial sites throughout SE1 and SE3 in London.

This is a hands-on role carrying out a range of commercial gas, heating and plumbing installation and commissioning works. You will work closely with site teams to deliver projects from initial installation and first fix through to commissioning, snagging and completion.

The role would suit an experienced Gas Engineer who is comfortable working within fast-paced commercial environments and takes pride in delivering work safely and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out commercial gas, heating and plumbing installation works.
  • Undertake commissioning of commercial heating, plumbing and gas systems.
  • Complete first and second fix pipework and associated installation works.
  • Diagnose and report issues identified while on site.
  • Complete all relevant work documentation accurately.
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with health & safety requirements.
  • Work closely with site teams to ensure projects remain on programme.
  • Manage and complete variations, snagging and remedial works.
  • Adhere to site-specific permits to work and safe systems of work.
  • Maintain a safe, professional and well-organised working environment.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience working as a Commercial Gas Engineer.
  • Strong commercial heating, plumbing and gas experience.
  • Relevant commercial gas qualifications/certifications.
  • Good understanding of construction health & safety.
  • Experience working within commercial environments; retail experience would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively within live, fast-paced project environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider M&E/project team.
  • Full UK driving licence.
