MSPS has been selected by Epping Forest District Council (EFDC) to deliver energy-improvement works on more than 1,500 of the council’s homes under the Social Housing Fund (SHF) Wave 3 initiative. The contract, valued at £12 million, marks the start of a six-year programme aimed at upgrading the council’s housing stock.
The works will target an upgrade to an EPC rating of C and will include building-fabric enhancements such as external wall insulation, cavity-wall insulation, loft insulation, plus the installation of air-source heat pumps. MSPS will also partner with the council on real-time data and performance analytics to support net-zero targets and compliance.
MSPS Regional Managing Director Mark Whittam commented:
“This is a fantastic opportunity to improve the Council’s housing portfolio in line with Government standards for Net Zero and support the community transition to a greener future. Our experienced retrofit team will be working closely with Epping Forest District Council and its residents as part of the programme to develop solutions that meet their specific needs.”
Cllr Nigel Bedford, EFDC’s Portfolio Holder for Housing, added:
“At Epping Forest District Council, we are deeply committed to improving the homes of our residents, ensuring they are safe, comfortable, and well-maintained for the long term. … This funding will support our continued work to upgrade homes across the district, helping us meet the evolving needs of our community while building a brighter, more sustainable future for all.”
