Mitie has secured a renewed four-year facilities-management (FM) contract with the Welsh Government, continuing to deliver FM services across its 21-building administrative estate - 19 buildings in Wales, one in London, and one in Brussels.

Since the previous contract began in 2018, Mitie’s energy-efficiency and sustainability efforts helped cut carbon emissions across the estate by 49%. Under the renewed deal, the company’s dedicated Net-Zero team; including a newly appointed Energy Manager plus 32 colleagues will work towards at least a further minimum 5% emissions reduction.

As part of the deal, Mitie will also invest £17.2 million into the local Welsh supply chain over the contract’s lifetime, support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) with business advice, and expand apprenticeship and training opportunities, providing the equivalent of over 16 years of mechanical and engineering apprenticeship training.
