Amey has announced its formal entry into the nuclear sector after securing a Workplace Services facilities management contract with Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS). Commencing in 2026, the agreement covers a full suite of hard and soft FM across 17 nuclear sites and regional support offices nationwide.

Under the contract, Amey will provide asset maintenance, catering, cleaning, transport, administrative support, grounds maintenance, waste management, and wider infrastructure and asset care. The company said the programme is designed to enhance working environments while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance expected in a regulated nuclear setting.

Craig McGilvray, Managing Director at Amey, said this is a “defining moment” as the business brings its FM expertise into the nuclear sector, with a focus on safeguarding people and the environment. NRS Commercial Director Emma Regan said NRS looks forward to working with Amey to deliver services supporting safe, sustainable decommissioning, including sites transitioning into NRS stewardship over the contract term.

From an overall FM perspective, it’s another clear signal that the market’s biggest growth opportunities continue to sit in high-compliance estates, where service integration, governance and resilience matter as much as cost.
