The Opportunity

Our client is a leading provider of facilities management and engineering services, delivering critical maintenance and infrastructure support across a portfolio of secure sites.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Engineer to join their mobile engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable engineer who enjoys working across multiple sites, supporting operational teams and ensuring the safe and compliant delivery of maintenance activities.

The successful candidate will benefit from genuine long-term career progression, ongoing technical training, and the opportunity to gain additional industry-recognised qualifications.

The Role

As an M&E Engineer, you will provide technical expertise and engineering support across sites including RAF Wyton, RAF Wittering, Carver Barracks and Bassingbourn Barracks, ensuring maintenance activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with industry best practice.

Working closely with operational teams, you will provide technical guidance, produce high-quality Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), assess engineering competence, and help maintain high standards of safety and compliance across the estate.

You'll also play an important role in supporting project delivery, identifying opportunities to improve asset performance, reducing corrective maintenance, and contributing to wider sustainability and efficiency initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical engineering support across multiple operational sites.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are delivered safely and compliantly.
  • Produce and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Assess the competence of engineering personnel and support ongoing development.
  • Coach and mentor engineers, promoting safe systems of work and engineering best practice.
  • Support planned maintenance and project delivery with technical expertise.
  • Identify operational risks and recommend practical engineering solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, subcontractors and stakeholders.
  • Support compliance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota where required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

  • Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience within building services, facilities management or maintenance environments.
  • A strong understanding of safe systems of work and engineering compliance.
  • Experience producing RAMS and supporting maintenance operations.
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring engineering teams.
  • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Security Clearance.

Engineering authorisations or additional technical qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential, as full training can be provided.

What's On Offer

  • Salary up to £44,000
  • Company Car or Car Allowance
  • Matched pension contribution
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Private medical cover
  • Ongoing training and nationally recognised qualifications
  • Excellent career progression opportunities
  • Supportive and collaborative working environment
