We are seeking an energetic and motivated professional to manage and develop operations across the Essex region.


This is an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager to join a leading facilities management and landscaping business. You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of grounds maintenance, winter services, and associated projects within your region.


The role requires a flexible and agile approach to working, ensuring operational excellence is maintained throughout seasonal peaks and providing out-of-hours customer support when required.


Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead and support the grounds maintenance team to consistently deliver high standards of service. Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving growth and profitability across the region
  • Managing and developing a professional and effective operational team
  • Promoting and implementing a positive health and safety culture
  • Continuously improving efficiency and resource utilisation
  • Supporting employee development and strong people management practices
  • Delivering excellent customer service at all times



Required Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Experience within the horticultural or landscaping industry
  • Previous supervisory or management experience
  • Strong understanding of operational IT systems
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) systems, including safe systems of work relevant to the role
  • Ability to represent the business professionally at internal and external meetings
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams effectively
  • A proactive attitude towards learning and professional development
  • Ability to lead by example in all aspects of the role
  • Flexibility to work additional or seasonal hours, particularly during the winter period
