Our client, a leading contractor delivering projects within the critical infrastructure sector, is seeking an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in High Wycombe.
This is an urgent requirement for a commercially focused individual who can provide hands-on support to a busy Senior Quantity Surveyor across a range of pre-construction and project delivery activities. The role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile infrastructure programmes with a strong possibility of progressing into a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor with day-to-day commercial management activities.
- Assisting with the preparation, review, and administration of contracts.
- Undertaking value-for-money assessments and commercial evaluations.
- Supporting pre-construction activities, including tender preparation and submission.
- Coordinating tender documentation and ensuring commercial compliance.
- Assisting with cost reporting, procurement activities, and subcontract management.
- Liaising with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to support project delivery.
- Providing general commercial support across multiple workstreams as required.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment.
- Strong understanding of commercial and contractual processes.
- Experience supporting tendering and pre-construction activities.
- Ability to work proactively in a fast-paced project environment.
- Flexible, practical approach with a willingness to support across a broad range of commercial duties.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Security Clearance

BPSS clearance is required or the ability to obtain it.

DV clearance would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working on critical infrastructure, defence, utilities, or highly regulated projects.
- Background within Facilities Management (FM) or maintenance-led contracting environments would be beneficial.
