Purpose of Role
Identify, target, and secure suitable land opportunities on an off-market basis to support the organisation’s ambitious development pipeline.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a market-leading developer with a significant national growth programme. To support the delivery of multiple new sites each year, you will use your experience of land research software and established networks to identify and secure commercially viable opportunities. You will deploy creative methods of engagement, communication, and negotiation to bring sites through to a robust legal and deliverable position.
The Person
You will have a proven track record of successful lead generation in a land-led environment and thrive on converting opportunities into completed deals. Resourceful and adaptable, you will tailor your approach to suit each landowner or agent, and demonstrate tenacity and resilience throughout negotiations.
Primary Responsibilities
Establish a dedicated off-market strand to complement the existing site generation and acquisition structure.
Utilise in-house and third-party land research software to develop a targeted pipeline of macro and micro locations.
Generate a flow of high-quality opportunities and engage directly with landowners and agents to progress deals.
Provide regular reporting on conversions, pipeline health, and progress against key performance indicators.
Maintain accurate records of all targeted sites, actions, and outcomes.
Work closely with regional land directors to leverage local relationships and networks to aid conversions.
Ensure the accuracy and deliverability of deals through robust internal approval and sign-off processes.
Take accountability for the quality of opportunities in the pipeline and adherence to acquisition processes.
Knowledge and Experience
Ambitious, self-motivated, and results-oriented.
Tenacious and resourceful in developing approaches to secure opportunities.
Strong understanding of the land acquisition process, with an appreciation for the importance of research.
Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Able to prioritise and thrive in a fast-paced development environment.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
Full UK driving licence.
