Working within the Capital Projects Team, you will be responsible for the commercial delivery of a range of capital projects. You will lead the commercial management of assigned projects from pre-construction through to final account agreement, while supporting the team in maintaining accurate and robust cost and revenue forecasts.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake site visits and surveys as required to support pre-construction activities, including the preparation of pricing schedules, specifications, and scopes of work.
Liaise with the Procurement Team throughout the tender process, assisting with tender analysis and the preparation of joint recommendations.
Produce cost plans, estimates, and formal client submissions for allocated projects.
Provide required commercial information to central commercial and finance teams.
Offer commercial and contractual advice to the wider project team.
Conduct site visits to assess progress of works and validate supply chain invoices and applications for payment.
Review supply chain quotations and variations to ensure value for money.
Administer project instructions and manage contingency and risk budgets.
Manage supply chain orders and ensure timely processing of payments.
Ensure projects are commercially managed in full compliance with company policies and procedures.
Mentor and support the development of junior members of the commercial team.
Qualifications
Degree in Quantity Surveying.
Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS).
Full UK driving licence.
Experience & Knowledge
A minimum of ten years’ experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a building contractor, ideally within PFI and/or public sector FM contracts.
Strong competency in Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to learn and work with bespoke systems.
