Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Billable Works Manager to oversee a varied programme of refurbishment, maintenance, and improvement projects across a large Defence housing portfolio. This role manages the full project lifecycle—from initial scoping and design through procurement, delivery, and final handover—ensuring all works meet required standards for time, cost, quality, and compliance.

Working closely with regional teams and contractors, the Billable Works Manager will coordinate projects ranging from minor repairs to complex multi-million-pound schemes. The role requires strong organisational and leadership skills, the ability to manage high-volume workloads, and a firm understanding of MOD and regulatory requirements.

A key part of the role is managing the supply chain to ensure contractors deliver high-quality, compliant work and value for money. The manager also maintains accurate records, monitors performance, and ensures adherence to Health & Safety legislation including CDM and asbestos regulations.

Excellent stakeholder engagement is essential, with daily interaction involving Service families, DIO representatives, suppliers, and internal teams. Clear communication, issue resolution, and a commitment to maintaining a positive customer experience are central to success.

Additional responsibilities include preparing performance reports, forecasting budgets, identifying risks, and driving process improvements. A recognised construction or property qualification, SMSTS certification, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (including MS Project) are required.
