Maintenance Manager

As a Maintenance Manager, you will take on a hands-on leadership position, providing support, guidance, and direction to both internal teams and specialist subcontractors. You will be accountable for ensuring that planned and reactive maintenance activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard. This will include managing complex repairs while keeping customers fully informed of progress. Operating flexibly across the South Region, you will oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring service quality and value for money, while also compiling and analysing performance data, monitoring KPIs, identifying trends, and implementing effective actions to maintain operational excellence.

The role also involves developing and delivering project management approaches that support business change and continuous improvement, with a strong emphasis on efficiency, innovation, and achieving value for money without compromising quality. You will report on performance, liaise closely with key partners and stakeholders, and ensure collaboration is embedded at the core of the service provided. Above all, strong relationship management skills are essential, as you will act as a vital link between clients, stakeholders, teams, and contractors—building trust, resolving issues, and maintaining clear and open communication at all times.

This role requires candidates to pass SC Clearance as a condition of employment.

What You'll Bring

We are seeking a candidate with strong technical knowledge of repairs and maintenance services, alongside a sound understanding of the regulatory and legislative requirements that govern this area, including relevant British Standards. A professional qualification such as CIOB or RICS, or progress towards one, would be highly advantageous, as would experience in project management and service delivery within a maintenance or facilities management environment. Familiarity with CAFM systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are important, while a health and safety qualification such as IOSH would be beneficial.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be flexible, proactive, and highly organised, with the ability to travel regularly across the South Region. You will be an exceptional communicator, innovative in your approach to problem-solving, and able to take ownership of challenges while inspiring confidence in others. Strong leadership skills are essential to motivate teams and manage contractors effectively, and your ability to build and maintain positive working relationships will be central to your success.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled and commercially aware maintenance professional to take the next step in their career, contributing to a high-profile contract where you will directly influence service quality, operational performance, and customer satisfaction.
