Asset Manager

Location: Midlands, North West & West Yorkshire

The Role

We’re representing a leading facilities management company with an exciting opportunity for an Asset Manager to join their team. This role is pivotal in developing and maintaining lifecycle plans that ensure assets are managed efficiently, sustainably, and in line with best practice.

Working closely with Lifecycle Analysts, Assurance Teams, and Project Management professionals, you will develop pragmatic Scopes of Work that form the foundation of Lifecycle Plans across key PFI contracts. You’ll act as a technical liaison, assessing asset condition, life expectancy, and performance to support decisions around refurbishment, replacement, and investment.

In addition, you will manage the Reactive Lifecycle process, oversee databases and reporting systems, and provide technical guidance to delivery teams. A strong focus will be placed on aligning asset management practices with ISO 55001 standards, supporting the company’s wider strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Lifecycle Analysts to generate and review Lifecycle Plans.

  • Identify and assess M&E assets across built environments such as schools, medical centres, and judiciary buildings.

  • Develop clear and cost-effective Scopes of Work for the Project Management Office.

  • Oversee Reactive Lifecycle works, ensuring accurate records and compliance with company and client processes.

  • Provide technical advice and guidance to Assurance Managers and Operational Leads.

  • Conduct Asset Assurance Audits to ensure assets are maintained to contractual and best-practice standards.

  • Implement tools and reporting mechanisms to embed best practice and drive ISO 55001 compliance across contracts.

Skills & Experience – Essential

  • Proven experience in asset management within facilities or building services.

  • Strong background in lifecycle modelling and planning.

  • Excellent knowledge of M&E systems and maintenance regimes.

  • Competent in data analysis, Excel, and database management.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and operational teams.

  • Track record of delivering strategic goals and project milestones.

Desirable

  • Mechanical or Electrical building services qualification.

  • Membership of a professional body (CIOB or RICS).

  • Experience with Concept Evolution or similar CAFM systems.

  • Exposure to H&S asset audits and ISO 55001 frameworks.
