Lead Electrician

Our client, a leading organisation within the manufacturing sector, is seeking a highly skilled Lead Electrician to oversee the operation, maintenance, and technical performance of key plant and systems.

Role Summary

Effectively manage personal workload and allocate tasks to engineering team members.

Oversee costs associated with planned and reactive maintenance activities, including specialist contractor services and in-house delivery.

Produce technical management reports as required.

Monitor utilities usage and support environmental performance programmes.

Support technical audits related to critical environments.

Assist with cost-effective procurement of engineering maintenance services.

Work within agreed engineering budgets for maintenance, repair, and system performance.

Ensure all engineering maintenance documentation and records are maintained accurately and stored in accessible systems.

Advise management teams of any changes in critical environment requirements.

Plan statutory compliance testing and maintenance, providing compliance reporting where required.

Ensure all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities are completed on schedule.

Review and analyse environmental and equipment operating conditions on a regular basis.

Maintain compliance with all health and safety procedures, including use of permit-to-work processes, and action improvements identified through inspections and audits.

Escalate urgent engineering or operational issues promptly to senior management.

Experience & Qualifications Required

Fully qualified Electrician with recognised industry credentials.

17th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations (essential).

Experience working within manufacturing environments (desirable).

Excellent supplier and contract management capabilities.

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills at all levels.

Self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful approach.

Confident decision-maker with strong problem-solving ability.

Proficient in PC use and MS Office applications.
