Are you an experienced Hygiene Manager ready to take ownership of hygiene standards in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment? This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a dedicated on-site hygiene team and play a critical role in food safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
You’ll be at the heart of operations, ensuring the highest hygiene standards are consistently met while driving best practice, audit readiness, and team development.
What you’ll be doing
Leading and managing all hygiene activities on site, ensuring services meet required standards at all times
Controlling hygiene labour hours and expenditure, with full authorisation and accurate recording
Developing, maintaining, and auditing cleaning schedules, risk assessments, and instruction cards in line with BRC food safety standards and customer Codes of Practice
Carrying out compliance audits and inspections, quickly addressing any non-conformances
Managing hygiene chemicals, dosing equipment, and conducting chemical titration checks
Championing a strong Health & Safety culture across the site
Supporting microbiological investigations and improvement projects
Training and developing hygiene and waste-handling teams to ensure full procedural compliance
Attending regular operational reviews and monthly KPI meetings
Key responsibilities
Auditing operational documentation, including cleaning schedules, training records, and risk assessments
Leading hygiene projects, compliance testing, and site inspections
Driving micro awareness and elimination planning
Ensuring your team conducts regular inspections, including finished standards checks, methodology reviews, and PPE compliance
What we’re looking for
Level 3 Food Safety qualification (Level 4 desirable)
Proven experience in a senior hygiene management role within food or FMCG manufacturing
Strong working knowledge of HACCP
Health & Safety Level 3 qualification
Experience supporting BRC and customer audits
Confident leader with strong people management skills
Ability to lead and collaborate with a diverse workforce
