We are delighted to be working exclusively with a private equity–backed, large and rapidly growing accountancy practice to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager. This is a high-impact role focused on driving revenue growth across the Southern region, selling a broad suite of accountancy and advisory services to SMEs.
Backed by significant PE investment, the firm is in an exciting phase of expansion, offering strong infrastructure, a compelling value proposition, and clear progression opportunities for high performers.
The Role
As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for generating new business and expanding the firm’s SME client base, managing the full sales cycle from initial engagement through to close. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, delivery teams, and marketing to maximise market penetration and revenue growth.
This is a remote-based role, requiring regular travel across the Southern region to meet prospects and attend events.
Key Responsibilities
Proactively identify, target, and win new SME clients across the Southern region
Sell a range of accountancy and professional services, with typical deal values between £3k and £20k
Manage the full end-to-end sales process, from lead generation to contract signature
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities
Develop trusted relationships with business owners, directors, and finance leaders
Attend networking events, referrals meetings, and client meetings as required
Collaborate with internal accountancy and advisory teams to ensure smooth onboarding and client satisfaction
Accurately forecast sales activity and report against targets using CRM systems
Contribute to regional growth strategy and market intelligence
About You
Proven experience in business development or sales within accountancy, professional services, or a related B2B environment
Strong track record of selling services to SMEs, ideally within similar deal sizes
Comfortable operating in a target-driven, PE-backed environment
Excellent relationship-building and consultative selling skills
Highly self-motivated, autonomous, and able to manage a regional territory remotely
Willingness to travel regularly across the Southern region
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
