Role Overview

We are representing a leading Facilities Management company in their search for an experienced Account Manager. This senior management role will lead the operational and support teams to deliver outstanding FM services across a high-profile contract. The successful candidate will own the client relationship, ensure contractual obligations are consistently met, and drive operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to the contract team, ensuring safe, effective, and compliant FM service delivery.

  • Take full P&L responsibility, including invoicing, accruals, income, and debt management.

  • Oversee compliance with statutory and legislative requirements, ensuring all remedial actions are completed on time.

  • Manage performance reporting, producing high-quality internal and external reports with analysis and action planning.

  • Lead monthly client and contract performance reviews, ensuring accountability and timely delivery of actions.

  • Drive efficiency through workforce planning, recruitment, and minimising agency reliance.

  • Support operational teams and contractors to achieve service delivery targets, addressing underperformance proactively.

  • Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the contract.

  • Ensure training and development plans are delivered to maintain competency and compliance.

  • Foster strong client relationships, acting as a trusted partner and ambassador for the business.



Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and change management capability.

  • Strategic thinker with hands-on operational delivery experience.

  • Proven ability to manage complex contracts with commercial and financial accountability.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills.

  • Results-driven, with experience embedding and sustaining improvements.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (or equivalent), CAFM systems, and performance management tools.



Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • IOSH Managing Safely (minimum).

  • PFI Experience.

  • Proven track record in managing multiple regional or complex FM contracts.

  • Strong knowledge of statutory compliance and H&S legislation.

  • Experience in financial and commercial management.



Desirable

  • Professional qualifications such as BIFM/IWFM.

  • Project management or Lean/Six Sigma certification.
