Soft Services Manager

We are recruiting for a Facilities Operational Manager to lead and deliver a Workplace Solutions and Face-to-Face service to the client.

 

This role requires you to oversee all aspects of Workplace Solutions delivery within the scope of the contract.

 

The post holder will be required to deal with various challenges that arise as part of the contract and resolve any challenges as they present. The post holder must be able to provide assurance of service delivery to Senior Management, client and customers.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact between the client and for major events and initiatives (e.g. elections, business continuity, royal visits).

  • Lead and support operational teams across cleaning, building support, and soft FM services — checking performance, ensuring standards are met, and driving improvements.

  • Monitor KPIs, compliance, and health & safety, ensuring legal and contractual standards are achieved.

  • Oversee budgets, resources, and expenditure, ensuring value for money.

  • Work closely with council services, stakeholders, and contractors to deliver customer-focused, flexible solutions.

  • Support compliance processes — audits, building logbooks, and safety records.

  • Manage building security, safety, and evacuation procedures where needed.

  • Lead and develop staff, encouraging high performance and continuous improvement.



Qualifications/Experience:

 

  • Excellent negotiation and procedural skills

  • Full understanding of building compliance duties

  • Ability to develop effective relations with senior management, customers, staff and clients.

  • Excellent organisational skills and strong work ethic

  • IT literate with knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 

  • Able to take a positive approach to problem solving.

  • Able to adapt and support change positively.

  •  Conduct project reporting in line with required deadlines.

  •  Identify, mitigate and manage projects and operational risks.

  •  Hold a full driving licence
